Of all the buildings in the Isle of Man, this must be one of the most remarkable.
Cynics scoffed when the Third Ronague Cub Pack proposed building a replica of the Eiffel Tower out of lolly sticks, next to their hut. But under the watchful eye of their Akela, Mrs Kineen, the result, as you can see, was magnificently faithful to the real thing.
I jest, of course. I’m just having a wee bit of whimsy to welcome in the weekend. This is, as you may have guessed, the real Eiffel Tower. I took this picture on a day full of dramatic clouds, during a visit to Paris a few years ago. Remember travelling? That was fun, wasn’t it?
Anyway, I do very much hope you enjoy the picture. Particularly as I nearly fell into the Seine while taking it.
